this aint nothing new though, they have to make an example out of someone

they should of put him in a drug rehab place type thingie, actually help him overcome his addiction

The guy was blatantly smoking weed close to a drug free zone, a daycare. He also had over a 1/4 lb of pot and baggies and scales, which would certainly make for intent to traffic a narcotic. The final nail in his coffin was it was his 3rd strike. I highly (no pun intended) doubt that a guy caught with one burning joint and a first offense would be doing 35 years. He'd probably only get 5 for that. Damn glad I don't live in Texas.

In Canada the guy would have received a good bitch slap, but definitely not 35 years.
