i'm not in china. what drugs are you on?
you need a credit card to use the cso website. that's not gonna happen as i don't have a credit card.
only one pf the p2pnet links works - a story about nikki hemming with a lot of messages. don't know which one is THE ONE.
the other p2pnet links show the stories were deleted, and there is nothing in any of the cache links that has any info.

Anyways thanks to Emma of p2punite.org for breaking the information so that we had more than just speculation to go on. Jon appears to have withdrawn from the grid into Ted Kaczynski's Montana cabin, so it was hard for us to figure out what was going on.
Now for those of you who are surprised that Sharman Networks would do such a thing, it's no surprise to me. DCIA members have always claimed to represent the interests of p2p when all they really do is use the p2p community to rally for their own interests, which is to commercialize p2p. They want to free us from the enslavement of the RIAA, in order for them to become the new slave masters.
Slyck and Zeropaid along with other filesharing sites have in the past been threatened by Sharman Networks for hosting guides and information regarding Kazaa Lite.

It would seem the last gasp of Kazaa is gonna be trying to screw the P2P community which made them rich. Although I never had any illusions about Kazaa being the least bit altruistic, I have to admit this has caught me completely off guard.................

Well, I'm sure we all know the history of Kazaa. Their interactions with other P2P organizations. Their business practices. Their development of Kazaa, or lack there of.
But I feel it necessary to say something on this topic. The compulsion is quite overwhelming. While I don't wish to polarize this thread with a rant or flame I can't fight it. If I do manage to kill this thread let me say congrats to all of you that made it so content filled
Alright here I go,
FUCK YOU SHARMAN!!!!!
...I feel much better now.

We should all counter-sue for putting out such a crappy file sharing program.

people are such asses and can't wait to speculate and create false rumors when they don't know wtf is going on. jon has done nothing except expose big corporations for the greedy b'stards they are and let people vent and voice anonymously.
now, the site and those freedoms are at stake, where are the troll? they're back in their holes or under a bridge waiting for their next unsuspecting victim.
not only are the trolls silent, but there also seems to be a lack of online discussion - outside of the few more popular places i've visited. this could be a direct result of there just being a lawsuit and a hint of a possibility of more to come if anyone says anything bad about a corporation or its employees.
is this what the tolls wanted? for everyone to shut up and do what the neocon corps tell you to do? well, it seems that at the moment, they got their wish.
jon still hasn't said anything publicly - but i'm sure he will. there doesn't seem an urgent need for him to say much more at the moment. i still have only limited contact with him, but as it's been from the start, i can wait. and everyone else will just have to wait, too.
i just find it unbelievable that the people who take advantage of their online freedom of speech and anonymity, and who used it to fling their monkey feces and other beastial droppings at a website who has only ever stood out and stood up for those rights...i just can't believe that those same trolls - or as we say at p2pnet, ANONYMOUS COWARDS - have now nothing positive to say.
he's taking the heat for someone expressing their opinion, or even having presented some facts anonymously. and he doesn't even know who it is. he will never know.
this is david vs goliath on a most basic level and i think now that certain facts are known - enough to form and express a valid opinion - people should be more motivated to band together against abuses of power like this.
it doesn't matter if you don't agree with what jon, or i, or any of the other p2pnet writers report about. the point is freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right to anonymity without the threat of a lawsuit. these are YOUR rights, trolls.
get together and save and secure those rights now or they could be lost very soon. this will be a precedent-setting case (in Canada, at least), the outcome of which will affect every message board and news website on the web.

Part of this misperception could be because of the very nature of the naming process of the users there. For example the two founders SlyckRay and SlyckTom have implied with their usernames that anyone with the username containing "Slyck" is representative of the site. Well I just ran a test by trying to register a username "SlyckTest" and got the message: "Sorry, but this username has been disallowed.". You see, SlyckNick (aka "Nick Parker") used to be named rocketman05 but changed it around the time "he" became a moderator / news writer at Slyck.
Nick was a writer at Slyck and a moderator briefly in one section of the site only.

That IS interesting isn't it? We are also from the same country, share the same language, have equal numbers of limbs and both appear to have an interest in P2P. Wow. I wonder how much MORE interesting it gets?. I'm glued to this one. Fascinating
Good to be here folks

Any chance we can get a move started to delete all references to Kazaa as a program from all P2P sites? I think it will be worth while if some of us push hard for this.
Lets not let this turn into some kind of Slyck anti-trust thread. OK?

um what did i just write about? are you thick?
please stay on topic. it's more important than the slyck vs p2pnet vs p2pconsortium CRAP.
no one is interested in more trolls. please get together and stop the foolishness and backbiting of who is who and who was where first. it's stupid and childish and trollish. take it back to you-know-where...wherever that is.
btw, great first post, scratch (notbob?).

This in-fighting in our communities serves no other purpose than to divide us... We need to stop it all and concentrate on our arguments against DRM, against stricter copyright, against those who would legislate against us.
