eDonkey/Overnet and Warez needs to be changed to "Uncheck bundled software during install", because it does not forced you to install it. Also add BearShareLite, XoloX and eXeem to the clean list.

even if you don't install the 3rdparty apps you get ads full of iframes, javascripts, shockwaveflash, cookies, and god knows what else they slip in on unprotected systems

i say limewire to the clean list, it doesn't have ads anymore

BTW hardcore users like myself use the overnet command line client, no ads there

Put Bearshare Pro on the clean list. I have found a bug and there software that requires no key or serial or cracker or anything! JUST ONE CLICK!

I just installed Limewire a few days ago and it doesnt have any adware or spyware. After scanning my system, I didn't find anything. I don't know if it did in the past but it doesn't now. People need to try this thing out again, I'm impressed, and anyone who knows me, that just doesn't happen very often. Nice little program that will take over the No.1 spot. Its hard for me to believe Gnutella iiis actually taking off after all this time of sucking balls. I've always hated it but its got better somehow. The Buzz is out and the average P2P user is switching to Limewire. Mark my words

I'm gonna take ya up on this Mels, I have a strong attachment to Limewire. It was one of the first P2P clients I used after Napster, so the nostalgia factor is there. I always liked it and if it is as good as you say, it should be worthwhile.

I'm guessing this thread is "dead in the water," however I stumbled across this forum during a search of a clean P2P program after the fall of WinMX. I see Limewire mentioned a couple of times as being safe.

PestPatrol ain't as good as it used to be...they will target most P2P now...buy words...Kazaa, LimeWire, etc.
I don't trust PP anymore for this.

PestPatrol completely sucks. It is full of false positives, I tried it one time and it detected important Windows operating system files as spyware. If I had removed what it said then my computer would have been completely destroyed. Also that Yahoo Toolbar with AntiSpy uses PestPatrol database for scans and should not be trusted either. Stick with the trusted programs like Spybot, Ad-Aware, Webroot SpySweeper, SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard.
